Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026
In plain English: Truth Local is an advertising platform for small businesses and franchise networks. To run your campaigns we collect information about your account, your business, and your orders. We use trusted service providers (like Stripe for payments and Anthropic for AI chat) to operate the platform, and we do not sell your personal information. This policy explains exactly what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Your use of the service is also governed by our Terms of Service.
1. Who We Are
Truth Local LLC, a Truth Marketing + Media company ("Truth Local," "we," "us," or "our"), operates truthlocal.com and the Truth Local platform — a self-serve and agency-managed local advertising service for small businesses and franchise networks. Customers purchase monthly subscription packages that include managed media campaigns across channels such as search, social, connected TV (CTV), video, audio, and display. Our ad-operations team sets up and manages those campaigns on your behalf. For questions about this policy or to exercise your privacy rights, contact us at hello@truth.agency.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information when you use Truth Local:
- Account information. Your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored only as cryptographic hashes — we never store your password in plain text. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google instead of a password.
- Business profile. Your business name, industry, website, phone number, and address.
- Store locations. The addresses of your business locations, which we geocode to latitude and longitude coordinates using Mapbox so we can target your campaigns geographically.
- Orders and campaign details. The packages you purchase, your campaign settings, and related order information.
- Payment information. Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your card numbers — we retain only Stripe customer and subscription identifiers so we can manage your subscription.
- Brand assets. Logos, brand books, and other creative materials you upload, which are stored in our database and used to build and run your campaigns.
- AI chat messages. Messages you send to our in-app AI assistant, which are processed by Anthropic to generate assistant responses.
- Communications. In-app notifications, emails we send you, and support correspondence you exchange with us.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide the service — create and administer your account, set up and manage your advertising campaigns, and geotarget campaigns to your store locations.
- Process your subscription billing through Stripe and maintain accurate order records.
- Communicate with you, including transactional and service emails and account-related notifications. You can adjust your notification preferences in your account settings.
- Respond to your support requests and questions.
- Power the in-app AI assistant, which uses Anthropic to generate responses to your messages.
- Maintain the security and integrity of the platform, and comply with our legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. We use third-party providers to operate the platform, each of which processes information only to provide services to us: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Anthropic (AI chat), Mapbox (geocoding and maps), Google (OAuth sign-in), Pexels (stock media in the creative studio), and our cloud hosting and database providers.
- Corporate and franchise programs. Some business accounts are provisioned by a corporate or franchise program, or by agency administrators. If your account is part of such a program, the program's corporate administrators can see your business information within that program.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Truth Local, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of some or all of our assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Truth Local currently uses two cookies:
- An essential session cookie that keeps you signed in and authenticates your requests. This cookie is required for the service to function.
- A consent-preferences cookie that remembers the cookie and tracking choices you have made.
Analytics and advertising cookies and pixels (such as those from Google and Meta) are not currently active on our site. If we introduce them in the future, they will load only according to the consent choices you have made. You can opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information at any time using the "Your Privacy Choices" control in the site footer.
6. Your Privacy Rights — California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Right to know and access. You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, our purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to delete. You may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Right to correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information. Advertising pixels, if and when enabled, may constitute "sharing" under the CPRA; we will honor your opt-out. Use the "Your Privacy Choices" control in the site footer to opt out at any time.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond providing the service.
- Non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
- Authorized agents. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require proof of the agent's authorization and may require you to verify your identity directly with us.
To submit a request, email us at hello@truth.agency. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days, as required by law.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for the life of your account, plus as long as needed to comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your information at any time; we will honor deletion requests subject to any applicable legal holds or retention requirements.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and hashed storage of passwords. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Truth Local is a business-to-business service. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. The service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide additional notice (such as by email or an in-app notification). Your continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
11. Contact Us
